6th Annual Women’s History Month, 2025

We hope you stopped by our summer exhibits: Clyde Butcher’s LIVING WATERS photographs or “DID YOU KNOW?” featuring unknown, fascinating facts and stories about Clearwater. Thanks to supporters like you there is always something happening at the museum! As summer nears an end the volunteers are planning the 6th Annual Women’s History Month Exhibition, TRAILBLAZERS 2025. We thank you for your sponsorship in 2024 and hope you join us, once again, in 2025.
TRAILBLAZERS has become a signature event that fulfills our mission to educate, collect, preserve, exhibit, and promote the people, culture, and events of our area’s rich past. The women we honor are leaders, mentors, caregivers, teachers, philanthropists, and professionals. They forged a way for others to follow, despite challenges and naysayers. Chosen for their investment of time, talent, and treasure, their stories are inspiring.
TRAILBLAZERS 2020 honored Mary Lou Baker, Jean Lester Bennett, Jenny Plumb, Jai Hinson, Arabella Williams Faust, Zena Lansky, Betty Wickman McGraw Perkins, and Christine Wigfall Morris.
TRAILBLAZERS 2021 honored Willa Carson, Ruth Eckerd, Barb Green, Cherry Harris, Blanche Littlejohn, Sallie Parks, Ruth Payne Stone, Jean Rees Homer, and Peggy Word. The 2021 exhibit, dedicated to Suzanne Ruley, honored her support of the project before her premature death to COVID19.
TRAILBLAZERS 2022 honored Phyllis Bayly Jones, Katherine H. Biddle, Isay M. Gulley, Mayme Weaver Hodges, Dorothy Judith Lutz, Betty J. Perry, Karen Seel, and Jessie Lee Wilder Thacker.
TRAILBLAZERS 2023 honored Maria Nieves Edmonds, Julie Scales, Nicole Stott, Gertrude Josephine Warnick and was dedicated to 2021 Trailblazer Sallie Parks, who gave us the title TRAILBLAZERS.
TRAILBLAZERS 2024 honored Karleen F. DeBlaker, Dr. Sylvia A. Earle, Ann McKay Garris, Kellis Jean Milner Glenn, Jeannie Shapiro, Barbara Sorey-Love & Margaret Word Burnside.
