This class is an introduction to the art and craft of Basket Weaving. Theresa will begin class with information about this particular weaving material and some vocabulary, (base, spokes, weavers) and weaving tools!
Student's will receive an individual kit containing both natural and hand dyed reed. In the kit there will be enough reed to create a basket by the end of this class. Theresa will lead student's step by step from the vertical spokes which will create the "bones" of the basket, then "randing" or "twining" weavers in and out of the spokes. They will continue to weave with two or more weavers to create patterns, while shaping the sides to create a natural vessel known as a basket.
